Cleveland is a low R motor. I would recommend a Windsor, but use the 302. The 351 is just gutless. Build a 302 and you'll have a better motor. I have a stock 72 302 in my PintoLorean and it's stronger than any of the newer ones. Getting an old one with flattop pistons will eliminate the need for performance parts other than an Edelbrock carb (weber) and intake. Good luck.

Cleveland definately better performance wise straight from the factory. Windsor is still up and coming. They have gained alot of recognition in the last few years and more performance stuff is coming on the market for them. When it's all said and done you can make either one of them pump out 500+hp. The cleveland however will achieve it a little easier. How much money do you want to spend?

The Cleveland, with it's much larger heads will produce much, much more torque. It is a powerhouse, and I would choose it over the Windsor on any given starting line. A properly set up Cleveland will outperform a Windsor even if equipped with just a 2 barrel carb and bone stock. If you can find a Cleveland, grab it up, these are good engines.
