I am thinking about getting either new in the box or like new items from Ebay for my new baby, since most babies don't use things very long (swing, playpen, bouncy seat, crib, changing table, etc). Has anyone ever gotten such products off of Ebay, and what are you thoughts on getting things off ebay.

First advice i can give you is read the feedback of the seller and also make sure whatever it is your purchasing has a picture. If you do these two things then you cant really go wrong. Just remember with larger items shipping cost gets pretty high so make sure your acctually gonna get a deal. Also The best way to insure the lowest possible price is waiting until the last few seconds of the auction to bid on an item. If you do it before that and another person is wanting it they will try and outbid you, then youll have to bid more, then theyll bid more.. and so forth. Now you might not always win but waiting until the last 15 seconds to bid (it works best two have 2 computers, one which has already set the highest amount your willing to bid and just waiting to hit the bid button and one counting down the clock) It will work very will and normally you will win the bid. However if you only have one computer make sure you give yourself enough time to click bid now, enter your bidding price, and then hit the bid buttom submiting your bid. Also if your afraid some one else is using this stradegy and is going to outbid you put the maximum amount your willing to bid in the amount box, if you do win, it wont charge you the maximum, just enough to outbid the other bidder (normally the highest bid other than yours + 10 cents or what ever amount is the minimum bid amount) Ebay is a really great place to purchase things as long as you kinow what your doing. Also a pay pal account makes things alot easier and a much more smooth process. Good luck!

I love Ebay! I bought my baby swing on ebay and it is wonderful! Just make sure the seller has a good feedback rating. And if you have any doubt of an item ask the seller. Plus if you pay with paypal it is secure and if something happens and you don't get your item paypal will investigate it and give you your money back. It is very safe and whenever I want to buy something that is expensive in a retail store I look on ebay and get it for a fraction of the retail price!

Okay, I don't recommend doing that because of the large amount you'll spend on shipping. Instead, visit websites that will allow you to check out these same items from people selling in your neighborhood. Visit www.craigslist.org and find your city. Then check under baby stuff in the sell section. Or, look at www.backpage.com (same thing but smaller). It'll change the way you buy! If you do decide to go with Ebay, make sure the seller has sold like items and has received positive feedback for them. Also, make sure they don't have negative feedback. Finally, check the return policy on the item.

Ebay is very useful. The auction part is a pain in the neck (you have to wait up to a week in some cases to see if you've "won"). Try to only buy from sellers with good ratings (95% +); be careful to know what the shipping charges are before you buy.

Baby furniture may be cheaper at a consignment shop and you can look at it before you buy. Shipping may be a lot for things like changing tables relative to the price of even buying it new.

And don't get caught up in "winning"... make your offer and stick to it.

I have bought some lightly used babygap clothes on e-bay. I have been pleased with my purchases, although I wouldn't call them amazing deals.

ALWAYS look at the shipping price. If you get a set of 3 onsies for 12.00, it may seem like a great deal. Until you have to pay the $6.95 in shipping and handling that the seller demands. Then you think you may have been able to buy them new, for about the same price as the total amount you payed over e-bay.

So always mentally factor in the price of shipping when you are making your bid.

I've been buying and selling on ebay for years. You can find some good deals out there. Just be sure to stick with the more reputable sellers with good feedback ratings.

ebay is great. Just check the seller's feedback numbers and read the comments (good and bad). Make sure the shipping / handling charge is stated in the auction to avoid paying more than you could get it for locally.

I have purchase baby clothes on eBay before. it is fairly easy to use and i would recommend it. But when choosing what you want you should careful check the user you are purchasing from. check their selling history , how much positive feedback they have and there overall accountability..and eBay will help you with this when you sign up. Happy shopping!!

eBay is great. Be sure to check shipping before you bid. Some sellers off a low opening bid but charge an enormous shipping and handling fee.
