I've heard that auditions are in the works (Not sure, but what if...?). Could it possibly be any better? (Cinematography and editing, no question about that, but the MOVIE itself...?)

And who would play Maria?

Most remakes are totally unnecessary - they're never as good as the originals. Just lazy filmmakers trying to rake in a few bucks without wasting any originality.
A remake of the Sound of Music would be worse than unnecessary... it would be positively blasphemous.

What is up with all the remakes? Can't they come up with anything new? Also, my teenagers favorite music are songs and groups from my era. Why don't we get to have our own era? Why can't this generation get their own stuff.

Really, I can't stand it when they mess with really good classic movies. Me and my sister used to entertain my parents on every car trip with the entire soundtrack of the Sound of Music. (they used to cut alot of trips short!) Really, I think they could rerelease the old one, but please don't make a new one!

I'd question whether it would go over well with today's generation. Maybe in animated form..like the makers of Shrek - DreamWorks

I saw it at a dinner theatre. The lead was by one of the past contestants of American Idol. Forgot the name. (sorry) It would be nice to see on film.

I think the original one is the best. They shouldn't risk doing the remake. I don't think it will sell, will it?

It's just annoying to think that once again the "powers that be" can't come up with anything original; You CAN'T top the original!
