You also need to consider high SAT scores (I think around 1350-1400). Also things like essay and volunteer work and if you were involved in student government or a team captain.

Yes those things definatly help, but also concentrate on writing a very exceptional essay. My daughter attends there. She had a weighted GPA 4.1, and was a All-star softball player for 8 years,as well as, high school team captain. But it was her essay that sold it for her. You have to remember, many great students are applying to Cal, so you have to show how you are a stand-out! Good Luck, sweetie!

Sure, you have a good chance. If you have time add some community service and write a fantastic essay. What you say in the essay and how you say it is really important.

There are a lot of factors college admissions officers look for.
grades, first and foremost
class rank
difficulty of classes (honors and AP level)
extracurricular activities (sports, music, clubs)
SAT1, SAT2, and/or ACT scores
work (it shows you can manage your time)
community service/volunteering
essay(s)
personal interview

must add club or community service involvement-volunteer service 2 da community's looked-upon favorably (points toward that person's personality being "well-rounded"...)
