what if someone called you moon face at the end of a letter, is that a compliment or they're just trying to insult you?

Actually it is a term of endearment when it comes from someone of an Asian culture. It is considered beautiful to have a full, round face. I call one of my daughters my little moon faced girl and I love her dearly. I would think that if someone is wrting back and forth with you, that they would mean it as a sweet nick name and not an insult. Be encouraged, I think they think you are beautiful.

I would call someone with a pretty face 'moon face'. Beautiful like the moon on a silvery night!

Here in Mexico, if you are called a "moon face" it usually means you have a full face, round, or with big cheeks. Whether it is an insult or not, it all depends on who is telling it to you and in what context.

In our place, when someone call you moon-face, it means that your skin is not perfect. Meaning you have an acne problem. Like your skin is that of the surface of the moon.

my first impression of the word are all negative - moon face as in sad, lonely, and long face like the moon. furthermore there is the fact that the surface of the moon is uneven with many potholes...

I think it depends on the laguage in which it is said.
In my language(Bengali)...."moon face" is used ---
1) to describe one's face stucture which is round or
2) to describe one who is beautiful

... wow... i am not sure. I guess you would have to read the letter and take it in context. if it seemed compleatly random then i would ask the person that wrote the letter! Ask him or her what it means because u've lost me!
