No on both counts...it would likely blow out your arteries (giving you strokes, heart attacks, etc.) and damage your heart's pumping ability. Those numbers would indicate pressure far above normal limits (Normal is anything below 120/80) and a serious problem with the systems in your body that regulate blood pressure. It is also impossible because there is always a difference between the two numbers...the top is when your heart is contracting, the bottom is when it is relaxed. If these numbers are fairly close, the indication is that your arteries are not relaxing (may be due to conditions such as arteriosclerosis)...also a serious problem.

I have had 200 over 190 when I had 2 litres of Kyle fluid in my left plural cavity. Needless to say I am lucky to be alive.

On the verge of having a stroke it may be possible. No medical person would ever let you leave the office with anything this high. (you would be in an ambulance fast on your way to the hospital) If you suspect anything over 140/90...get to your doctor ...Pronto!!

Are u sure it was taken correctly? I would think it would be very rare to have that kind of BP and still be alive, especially with the diastolic (bottom number) that high. I've seen systolic (top number) that high before though
