Actually, the Selective Service is always getting ready for a draft. Its website boasts that the agency trains “over 11,000 volunteers… so that if a draft is reinstated, they will be able to fulfill their obligations fairly and equitably.” Although President Bush assured Americans after 9/11 that there is “not a chance” of bringing back conscription, two bills have been introduced in Congress that would reinstate the draft, apply it to women as well as men, and allow no deferments for college students.

I am not in favor of the draft, but I am in favor of mandatory service. Two years in the military. If, for religious reasons you cannot serve in the military, then three years in the Peace Corps.
No exemptions except for the mentally and physically handicapped.
The biggest problem with the military right now is that it has become a service of the poor. If people of all classes don't participate it threatens our nation's ability to bond when conflicts arise. If every family has someone in the service, it will guarantee that no war will be committed without serious consideration, and if the decision is made to go to war, it will ensure national unity.

While I think every American should serve in the military for a few years, I still don't approve of the draft. The men and women in the military now (including myself) are there because we chose to be there, not because we were forced to. This creates (usually) gung-ho soldiers with no right to complain about having to leave home to fight a war because it was our choice. Bringing back the draft will just bring back all the bad feelings of Nam. And I'm also against everything that comes out of that woman's mouth-I am terrified that some people want her as President.

I, an old dinosaur, have always been in favor of universal conscription, wherein everybody has to serve for a couple years. True pacifists (as in WW II) were allowed to serve in military hospitals etc.
That's the only way to have a truly representative fighting force that will remember and chronicle the situations accurately. When war is written about by those who had no part in it, their perceptions are limited and have no bearing on the reason for the fighting, only to interests that will increase their standing, or circulation.

No. The draft is not needed. This is a political issue that has nothing to do with the military. All these people do all day is plot and sceme to screw up our lives while pretending to find ways to fix the problems that they cause so they can be re-elected. I am not just talking about Dim-o-crats here, but 99% of all politician.

Your question is flawed. Hillary does not want to reinstate the draft. You need to read more than just Fox News Headlines!@@

She is not in favor of a draft. But she should be.
If everyone's kids were compelled to serve, I think there would be a whole lot less war. And as a benefit when it was necessary to fight, we would have a lot more trained people.
Why do you think Israel has such a powerful army? The whole country it military trained.

Draft will no longer be mandatory except in situations the position tremendous quantities of manpower is significant, because it became in wars previous. excellent this second we are an all volunteer military, and it does properly. besides the undeniable fact that... I do aspect that there might want to be no loose handouts from the authorities in this international.... in case you recieve public ideas, it may to boot be because you're serving your usa contained in the defense force. To qualify for public ideas you would possibly want to no longer in basic terms might want to satisfy the present criteria, yet also meet the criteria for military provider so that you'll connect and serve, incomes your way and gaining education.

I guess that's the only way she'll get anyone in the military to like her, because most that volunteer sure can't stand her. Will she sign up Chelsea? She's prime age. Being the Hypocrite clinton is, I wouldn't hold my breath.
