I don't know anymore. There are so many theories. Like I was watching The History Channel today and they said that there is a part of the brain that is the place where we think the difficult things like etiquette and where we solve the questions that are the most important. They weren't talking about this subject but about Cannibalism. My point is, they said that that part where the brain does this function, if lost then people start living like animals, with the instinct to survive only and not to think about others or our behaviour. I've noticed that even where you are brought up doesn't really matter anymore and even if you go to church everyday as a kid it doesn't matter. People will be rude. But I grew up in a small town in Arkansas and I know what you are talking about. And no you and I are the last nice persons alive. I say hi to people at the supermarket.

No, thankfully you're not the only nice person out here! Nice people with the best intentions have their moments - of being a little insecure and rude!
Individuals who use it as a "badge of honor" are just a lot more afraid than you and I are! They are really scared, insecure, and sadly cannot find any degree of self -worth within theirselves!
Listen, truly the nice people - even with all their faults, fears, and issues RULE - no matter what you experience from a rude person! Rude people rule nothing - they can't even rule their own actions - they for now have chosen to be cowards within their souls - so that is the only way they can respond!
NICE PEOPLE RULE!

The biggest difference in people to notice would be accountability. People don't realize the importance of being held accountable for ones actions. A child who is caught stealing is disregarded for "just being a kid" will have no incentive to abide by the rules, he/she will just go and do it again. When finally persecuted for their crime they feel victimized and justify their action, or displace the fault on others. These people become their own writers of right and wrong. When you do that you can do anything you want.
So in answering your question people want to be rude for whatever twisted reason they can come up with. people who spot this truth tend to be the nice people, and you are definitely not the last.

No you are not the last nice person alive. The problem is many children are not taught good manners, Todays society has a lot to answer for as good manners is not promoted or exhibited in many areas of day to day life. Good manners is having consideration for the feelings of another person. These days it appears that some people are considered "soft" if they exhibit good manners . Keep doing what you are doing - it may be catching!

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste,
and remember what peace there may in silence.
As far as possible, without surrender,
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly, and listen to others,
even to the dull and ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons;
they are vexatious to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain or bitter,
for always there will be
greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career
however humble;
it is a real possession in the
changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs,
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you
to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals,
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself.
Especially do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love,
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,
it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit
to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore, be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life,
keep peace in your soul.
With all its sham,
drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

I know what you mean. I ask that question everyday. when i say something nice i get a rude reply. The world has changed and people only care about what they want. And people like you and I are hard to find. I wish there was something we could do but theres nothing but just dont change who you are. We need more people in the world like you. But where ever they are i wished they could stand up. Thank you for your question

Hms, I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one still alive who actually waves at people, smiles and help others out. I think the only thing that comes to mind as to WHY they're so many rude people out there is because frankly they don't really give a damn about others. Hms but of course thats just my opinion. ^_^

They do it to be smart. Some do it to see if you'll report them or not. They do it to get a reaction out of people. Not everyone on here's rude like it may seem. Because I know that I am not really rude, I am really nice. Ignore ignorance. Ask a question like where are the nice people out or something like that.

This web site has a tendency to entice authoritarians of the two ilks. Authoritarians are people who're submissive to a pacesetter, do no longer study what they pay attention from those they believe (and are for this reason able to exceedingly compartmentalized questioning with numerous "worst concern dealing with this u . s ."), act aggressive and antagonistic to those who do no longer accept as true with them, and have self assurance they're the only ones with the suggestions-blowing thank you to run issues. they're the salt of the earth. you could no longer run a political or religious dogma or an honest fascist or communist dictatorship with out them. yet right here with anonymity certain they are able to be as antagonistic as they prefer. The worst which could take place is a suspended account, and that they are able to in straightforward terms make yet another. the great hostility exhibits forth while the authoritarians are in a team that outnumbers their enemies, and right here, it is a hundred% available all the time. So clearly that hostility comes forth as rudeness, huge sweeping statements and posts that tell all people who reads them with a severe eye that they are crammed with themselves and incorrect information (on the two sides). Judging via form of posts and solutions, until eventually this week, i might have reported the authoritarians who persist with a conservative banner outnumber people who persist with a liberal banner, and it is going to nevertheless be genuine, yet without warning appearing are a gaggle of folk i elect to call human beings, who factor out flaws with courtesy in all the posts via the rude ones.

I still consider myself a nice person. I think a lot of people are rude because they've been hurt in the past and are afraid of being hurt again so they're rude first. Maybe they consider it a force field of some sort to protect themselves from getting close to people.
