I think a perfect life is one that you accept. If you accept all the things about you and around you then life is perfect. It is different for each person. The most important thing in life? Is not a material object. It is ourselves and who we are. It is life itself. Which is better? Having a quiet mind- for then you are at peace and are smarter than those that consider themselves smart. My philosophy? One must strive towards acceptance of all things- Acceptance of your appearance
Acceptance of your surroundings (which includes acceptance of your material objects and therefore, acceptance of how much money you have and will have)
Acceptance of the people in your life
And acceptance of the way the world is (ie- I have no real control over things happening in it)
Once you have accepted all these things you will be free- completly at peace, and happy.

1) There is no such thing as a 'perfect' life. (*If I had the opportunity to change anything in my life, I wouldn't change a single thing in it, because it was perfect)
2) The most important thing in life, is life!
3) The statement "being smart and having a quiet mind", actually does not make much sense.If a person is intelligent, that person's mind would not be quiet, it would be quite active!
4) I am borrowing a phrase from Paul McCartney---"Live and Let Die!

Let's rephrase the question: "What gives your life meaning?"
The most important things in life are relationships. They are the only thing you'll take from this life to the next.

The MOST important relationship you will EVER have is with God.

Read the Bible. Start with the Book of John in the New Testament and read the next two: Acts and Romans.

My philosophy of life is to simply love one another as I would have them love me. This, of course, means going to extremes and loving others even though I may not be loved in return.

The meaning of life is to love and be loved, loving exchange and loving reciprocation.

The problem is we have to really work at understanding our position and predicament in material existence. And we can only do this in and intelligent form of life such as the human form.

We are constantly struggling for survival in this material existence. Our "so-called" material enjoyment gives us only so much satisfaction. After this material enjoyment is over we are struggling again. So in a sense we only got temporary relief from the suffering that comes from the struggle for existence.

The mind is constantly struggling with uncertainty. An uncertain mind is a troubled mind. That is part of the suffering we experience in material existence. Uncertainy can also result in fear or fearfulness.

In this temporal existence it is difficult to believe there is an eternal existence. We are accustomed to things coming and going with nothing ever really lasting forever.

We can take logic and reason as far as we like, but eventually we may have to depend on faith. If we can put our faith in an eternal existence and turn our attention and focus in that direction then we are on the road to a peaceful mind.

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste,
and remember what peace there may in silence.
As far as possible, without surrender,
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly, and listen to others,
even to the dull and ignorant;
they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons;
they are vexatious to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain or bitter,
for always there will be
greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career
however humble;
it is a real possession in the
changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs,
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you
to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals,
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love,
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit
to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.

And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore, be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life,
keep peace in your soul.
With all its sham,
drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

Warm temperatures and radiation made the ground fizzle and from it sprang animated life forms that soon die and return back to the earth.

Aren't we all just things that erupt from the earth's surface and then return back to it upon death?

And it keeps going this way until the Earth becomes too cold?

But if the Earth becomes too hot, wouldn't the world just erupt in a different--less calm--way?

It's either action or inaction, and we live in a time where there is both on earth.

Well I say life is not long.
Live in the moment.
Don't let anything bring you down.
You are the only one that can make or brake you.
Also if you don't like what is happening to you change it.

Mankind has created philosophical systems and founded religions in an attempt to answer your questions. Not having done either, I must defer to those systems of thought and belief.
