pregnancy puts a strain on your body. You would be considered high risk because you may have more frequent seizures. There are some anti-seizure medications that may be taken during pregnancy. Seek an OB/Gyn that specializes in high risk. Discuss this with him/her and they can give you your options. Only a physician who specializes can give you the right info. I have taken care of women who had seizures and their babies came out fine; and I have taken care of women whos seizures were so bad that they turned blue due to lack of oxygen and this affected the baby. It can go either way, this is why you need to see a specialist give him your past medical history and the physician can give you a better answer.

It is definitely a question of hereditary. Can you pass epilepsy to your unborn baby maybe will it hurt the baby if you take meds ask your doctor and also find out if there are any risk to you.

You need to talk to your OB/GYN and neurologist. If he or she is not familiar with epilepsy and pregnancy then ask for a referral to a specialist. You will want to know what to expect before you become pregnant.
