Balsam ( or Touch-Me-Not ) forms seed pods on the stem that explode when "ripe" and scatter seeds on the ground for next season. They are related to Impatiens.

Yes a Passion Flower does this---
You can look it up on the web--It comes in many different colors and makes a round pod type pocket that is filled with seeds that burst out of the dried pocket into the soil-
If you collect these pod pockets before they dry you can dry the pods and burst them open to plant the seeds where you choose, instead of letting nature plant them for you.

Yes, I had one years ago. Look it up not too terribly long ago and found it. It's some kind of Kalanchoe I believe. Back when I had it I was told it was a Maternity Plant.

If that helps.

I can't get any links to work right now except this one. I was right about it being a Kalanchoe. Sorry, but it's not a very useful link.

Believe it or not-- common garden violets also produce seed in little "pockets" that explode when the weather is right-- as does moss rose and it's cousin? sorry lost that name. There are several plants that use that method to spread itself out--
have fun
