I'm a woman and I understand it very well. My husband and I both abstained until marriage and we don't regret it.

Is this your argument to try and get someone to dress more suductively?
A woman that dresses trashy and sleeps around might be popular now but the ones that dress decent and do not date or sleep around will be the ones that catch the best husbands.
The type of man that is attracted to the slutty, trashy woman isn't the type of man the more respectable woman is after. There are some men in this world that would run the other direction from the slutty woman, so you can't say they are the "most popular". Maybe just in your circle of friends they are.

I understand what you are saying and I strive for modesty and raise my daughters the same. But I will tell you, it is HARD! As much as I try to be a good role model and tell my daughters these same things, the fact is EVERYONE just wants to be accepted. Fortunately for me, I have a wonderful husband who loves my daughters dearly and takes an active role in their lives, they dont have to search around for male acceptance , but there are so many girls I know who have no fathers or their fathers are there just not involved- they want people to look at them, they dont KNOW the difference between love and lust and as long as guys are looking and wanting to be with them they are all for it. It used to be hard fro me to maintain modesty knowing that all the guys I knew wanted to look at porn- I wanted ot be looked at not respected- I know better now and that is not the case, but what do we do for little girls with no dads and working moms who all have popular bourbon street barbie dolls and bratz dolls as role models, every advertisement they see for their favorite clothing stores has some half dressed woman surrounded by worshipping men, every tv show or movie they are unfortunately allowed to watch teaches them that little clothing and seductive smiles means power and plenty of attention.
Come one- I mean if you guys could have a little self control (okay - not ALL men don't) and really show some honor and respect to women and stop ogling over nakedness and show disapproval, then maybe we would have a healthier , less needy, less self deprecating society of women out there. It only makes it worse because you guys encourage it by the way you react - then since men really don't have any respect for these poor girls, they get used , abused tossed to the side and wind up feeling MORE worthless and wind up behaving in an even more unhealthy and self deprecating manner to get more attention from someone else. It is an unfortunate, endless cycle and the cure starts with fathers taking better care of their daughters and showing them real love and acceptance and other guys keeping thier pants up and their eyes forward and showing a little respect.

I think you're overgeneralizing.
Most women like to be a little bit of both sides-
I like to dress up wild sometimes, more when I was single of course, and I had some experience when I found my one person for the rest of my life. But I was always respected by my guy friends and I have my wonderful husband now.
I think women who try to be one or the other are cheating themselves out of happiness either way.
I like to think guys are smarter than that-
that they don't really like slutty girls, and
don't really want to marry those ice queens either...

I think most of us understand that. But you have to realize that a lot of women enjoy dressing provocatively and perhaps other activities just as much as men do.

I believe most parents and teachers try to get this across - but peer pressure is stronger than authority figures.

hmm maybe they do get it, but they like the attention and with certain men you just aren't going to get the respect you deserve no matter what, actually maybe that is her point with "those guys" she knoww it just doesn't matter, now with guys worth her time, she might try harder....just my thoughts

Too bad that's the only thing they have going for them.....and it limits their opportunities in life. No one really respects them or takes them seriously...
