Auckland is THE multicultural core of New Zealand.
There are things I could eat in restaruants there, that I have had trouble finding in the actual native countries.
I was living downtown in Auckland, and we would have something different every night. Most usually Korean and Japanese though.
For special occasions we would head upto Sawadee on Ponsonby Road, Yum char at Sunshine for lunch.
Depending on what style of Japanese and Korean food we wanted would depend where we went.
Drunken nights usually ended in Kebabs.
Vietnamese for something light... the list is endless!
If you need some recommendations, message me. However I havent been there for a year.

Indian is very popular, as is Thai. Yum Cha for lunch at Chinese restaurants is great and a lot of young people enjoy it. Japanese is popular too, and there are some fantastic teppanyaki and yakitori restaurants in Auckland. There is a bit of everything else around, just as there is in Australia.

young new zealanders are pretty adventurous with their restaurants - you'll probably find that thai, turkish, indian, chinese, italian, american, japanese, spanish, malaysian and south american are all as popular as each other. the only problem with auckland is getting to places - it's way too spread out. wellington's much better for eating out / saturday night.

i think of it relies upon on the place you reside. on the west coast, of direction the Spanish and Mexicans have been right here first, and then the subsequent huge wave of immigration replace into the chinese language and eastern. on the east coast, the Italians and the Irish have been the 1st to reach in super numbers. interior the midwest, German and Scandinavian immigrants seem to dominate. and then in all areas, immigrants from Southeast Asia, India, and the middle East have been the main modern-day. usual ethnic delicacies in each area relies upon on how the melting pot in that section got here jointly. right here in San Francisco i could say maximum usual is in all possibility Asian, yet I wager the respond is distinctive in Boston.
