I am 14 and have been at summer camp for the last 6 weeks. I have missed the news on the war in Israel. Why and what is going on?

I love it. You assume in your question that there is a war in Israel, and one guy lost indeed, responds that hezbollah terrorists are shelling israel. Anyone aware that basically Lebanon has been torn to shreds? The war is in and on Lebanon.
Why? Hezbollah kidnapped two Israeli soldiers. What is going on? Israel started a war to rescue them and annihilate Hezbollah, never mind if it means setting the whole country ablaze. It has bombed entire neighborhoods flat, destroyed all means of transportation, bridges and roads, within the country, as well as the airport. It is carrying about 50-60 airstrikes a day, which deliver innumerable bombs. There have been at least 300 civilians dead and 500,000 displaced in Lebanon. Yet, most of the Lebanese are not pro-Hezbollah, nor have not been trying at the cost of their lives to object to pro-Syria's Hezbollah.
Yes, also about 80 rockets a day are falling in northern israel. Most do not cause damage. To be fair, some 40 Israelis died.

Two Israelie soldiers were kidnapped and Israel retaliated by bombing Lebanon. So now a terrorist group from Lebanon is bombing Israel. That's just a quick summary. You should definitely read the news to get more details.

Well aprroxiametly 9-10 days ago hezbollah whihc is aterrosit group supprted by syria and iran but based in labanon captured two israeli soldiers and since then israel has been launching missels into southern lebanon in attemp to get their soldiers back and also to disarm hezbollah.

Events are unfolding quickly. Israel is defending attacks from two fronts. The North and the South. The best way to defend against attacks is to flex your muscle. Israel has a lot of muscle to show. They and the U.S. win again.
