The traditional way to get rid of the smell of oil are:
1.Wash/soak it with cold water diluted with washing dishes cleaning agent.
2.Lemonade is the multi purpose smell ridder of any kind of smell.
3.Since the main ingredients of oil is gas, heating it under the direct sunlight, after the washing could burn the rest of the gas.

But unfortunately,if you have kept it to long, usually none of the tips won't work.Sorry.

A good laundry detergent should work just fine. Maybe use a double dose and use hot water. That should do it.
