I hate the idea of embedded reporters. I don't think reporters should be allowed on ANY military missions. I want our guys to do whatever it takes to get the job done and I think it's really shameful that our guys might have to watch out for what the reporter might think or say.

Yes they are, in fact they get in the way, give away the soldier's positions. If I was the President, there would be NO media attached or even allowed by any military unit. The media thinks that the right to free press also covers them in other countries or war time. In my opinion, the right to free press should be suspended when it endangers the lives of our soldiers, as is has done so many times when the media has interfered with military operations. I also think the media members should be criminally charged in these cases. How many of our soldiers have died because of this?

Well the hope is that they get it somewhat correct if they are in the action. They are not allowed to give any troop movements information, so they are limited in that regard. If they feel comfortable with getting that close, they are fully aware of the risks. They were embedded in WWII also, so this is nothing new.

nice one bill, lol. I agree, they know what they are getting into, and I'm sure they make a healthy paycheck out of it. I kinda enjoy watching a bomb hit a terrorist live on tv from halfway around the world.

I don't know if it could help who the enemy is but I think it is stupid to risk their life to just get a "good shot"

I don't think they're close enough. . .

Some of them are too nosey and think we need to know about every breath of someone. They over report some stories, and it annoys me.

No. Not nearly as close as reporters of yesteryear.
