I think, historically, that the Jews have been hated more. They've been persecuted and/or fighting with others for literally thousands of years. The Nazis were supremely horrible and fresh in our memories, but it was for only a blip of time in the grand scheme of things.

In the historical sense, lots of folks were hated by lots of folks. Rome was probably hated by those actually conquered more than Americans are today, which may be hard to believe in light of the words bounced around in this forum. Vandals and various other such "babarian" raiders were certainly not endearing themselves to Europe as it was repeatedly sacked and pillaged. The Khans and their Mongolian raiders were nice folks: behead the leaders in the middle of town after conquering a city, but if the city was problemsome, then they just burned it down, with the people inside. When the Romans conquered, they killed a third, sold a third into slavery, and left the rest to be obedient folks. Places like Carthage and Corinth were completely sacked, Carthage more than once, by Rome, at least they let some of the folks live to tell the story. Part of the reason the Jews were scattered everywhere was that after a couple of uprisings, they too were booted out as a message to other people not to be malcontents against Rome.
The Nazis had such a small slice of human experience, but the Nazis deserved the hatred they earned. The Jews did not.

I must say that I agree with "lotsayorks"... Even thought the Nazis were hated by many people up to this day, the Jews have been around for MUCH longer than the Nazis... It doesn't help that in olden times they were described as backstabbers (traitors)

Well, I think the Jews cause they were pushed around a lot, and the fact that they started Christianity, it wasn't too popular in ancient times
