Several people. The very original version was called "Pass the Kutchie," and was done by the Mighty Diamonds.

Their version was covered in a poppier fashion by Musical Youth, and retitled "Pass the Dutchie".

The original version is about smoking pot. The cover version is about eating food. The original version is better, imo.

This pulled from the article below:

"British teen sensations Musical Youth reached the top of the charts in 1980 with an adaptation of "Pass the Kutchie" called "Pass the Dutchie." Lauryn Hill, Sanchez, Rocker T. and Shinehead have also performed versions of "Pass the Kutchie" during their live shows."

Musical Youth
Dutchie is for Dutch Oven- a great big pot
The song goes "how does it feel when you've got no food", remember?

The original was Pass the Kutchie, and it seemed improper for little kids to sing about a big Jay.
