I think the big surprise will be Detroit...as in how far the mighty will have fallen. And while the loss of Ben Wallace will be part of it, you also have to look at how many teams in the East have either added firepower or will be better with another year under their belts.
There also seems to be, despite last season's regular season record, some hints of discord between the players and the new coach. That is only going to grow over time.
I think Detroit is still in the playoffs, but may be one of the last teams getting in.

I wouldn't go so far as to say the Chicago Bulls will make the finals this upcoming season, but they definately have a great chance of making the playoffs with players like Kirk Hinrich and Ben Wallace. Actually, that wouldn't be much of a surprise now would it?

The Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Lakers::
Phoenix - recently acquired marcus banks and AMARE IS BAK!!
Lakers - made a great steal with Jordan Farmer, have Bynum roaring to go (just look at his domination in the summer league), plus Kobe is in his prime. PREDICTION: The lakers will make it to the western conference finals against Phoenix, But will loose.

detroit because with the loss of Big Ben people are saying that they will fall and not be that good, but i think they will still win the Central division and make the playoffs.

im a laker fan,but the bulls are going to be 3rd in the east thats good for them.also hornets got better,and who-ever gets a.i also will get better.
