With the results on Canada's next top model being awarded to an individual with an obvious eating disorter is it what Canadian's really want when we are represented on the World stage?

You know the answer to this, so why are you even asking. It's pretty obvious.

The sad thing is that she looks like all the other models walking down the runway. So it doesn't send a good message to young girls but they did pick the girl that will probably succeed.

All in all, it's pretty sad.

no, i dont think it sends the right message to any woman in the world. When i was younger i was obssesed with looking like the girls in the magazines and now i realize the harm done to my body was so not worth it. I just wish they had more positive role models for these young girls who dont know better.

I am a "young woman", and my body image is fine. Don't be patronizing and think that we are all mindless girls who stick our fingers down our throats because some famous person has a mental illness. This isn't how Americans view Canadians, I personally equate you all with characters from "Dudley Do-right", or whatever that oldish movie about Canadian mounties was called.

Absolutely not. We have the same issue in America. Since when did starving yourself become sexy? And the real kicker is that as we are becoming heavier as a society, our celebrity idols are becoming skinnier- even emaciated! The real question we should be asking ourselves is why are we, as a society, buying into an unattainable ideal? Not only is that ideal unattainable, it is unhealthy and possible deadly.

I'd say anyone who can be described as an "aspiring woman" has other issues to worry about.

nearly all models are starving themselves, we have said for ages that magazines and actors are causing our kids to have sick ideas about self image, moral issues, manners and everything else, you are about 40 yrs late with this question. its wrong, ofcourse, will it change, doubtfully
