Please don't take her--it's rough and it's a long hot day. Lots of very foul language and drugs, and that's just the bands! HA! No, really it is not for children.

Take sunscreen, bottled water and lots of cash. Everything is expensive. Have fun!!!!!

Ozzfest is absolutely NO place for an 8-yr-old. She's way too young. She could get nightmares from some of the loud music and the looks of the artists and other fans. You would be doing serious damage to her if you took her there. PLEASE get a babysitter if you want to go to that! Not to mention all the things that an 8-yr-old just should never be around - drugs, booze, topless women, cussing, etc..... Wait until she's at least a teenager and has more of a grasp on these sorts of things. You never know if the wrong person could get drunk or high, and kidnap her, or do terrible things to her. I would never take anyone under 18 to this type of concert, but taking an 8-yr-old is borderline negligence.

Wow-8 seems a bit young. Wouldn't let my husband take my 5 year old to Ozzfest/Chicago; told him he'd have to wait. His big brother didn't start going until 10. I guess it depends on what you do during the fest. Do you stay on the lawn? Do you walk around a lot to hear the other bands on the smaller stages? There are a lot of "interesting" people at these concerts. Don't know if I would want my 8 year old exposed to that just yet. Only dad knows what's best.

I have been to Ozzfest and never EVER would I take an 8 yr old. Between the overdosed people that are convulsing on the floor, the ones that are too messed up to even walk, the language, the people running around naked!! Yeah... those are things that I want to explain to my 8 yr old! My suggestion?? Leave her at home where she is safe!

I haven't been to a lot of concerts, but from what I understand there's a lot of smoking and drinking cause everyone is there to have a good time. I don't think it would be the smartest thing in the world to bring your daughter there unless she is already begging to go, and if you do bring her, you shouldn't drink or smoke anything unusual around her; you'll want to have your full concentration on keeping an eye on her.

There are really more entertaining things for 8 year olds to do than watch a bunch of people get wasted listening to loud music...

I don't think that its the best place for kids man. I've been to a couple of Ozzfests and things can get kinda crazy. There's alot of smoking (not only cigarettes), drinking, mosh pits, and nudity just to name a few. Your kid though, so its your choice. Just a few things I thought you should know.
