I'm a patriot! I love America. That's why it's so upsetting to see it destroyed at the hands of people like Dubya and his creepy Uncle Dick.
And our flag is beautiful. However, the flag is a symbol, a piece of cloth. The freedoms and principles it represents are far more important than the mere piece of cloth.
I respect the military too. I just don't respect the greedy, corrupt, and inept people who run it...especially Apelord Bush, the commander in chief.
I respect something else that BushCo doesn't: Our CONSTITUTION!
Hopefully our great nation can survive the remaining few years of BushCo's incompetence.

I am patriotic to my country, what country are you from? I love all country belonging to this Earth, boundaries are imaginary lines conjured up by idiots. I respect a man who fights for what he believes in. I don't respect those who kill just because they are in a military. I respect any flag that is a symbol of its people but I don't respect a flag symbolizing the latest political ideology and power of its leaders. There is more to life than blind patriotism.

I dislike nationalistic people and love true patriots. Do you know the difference?

Patriots sacrifice out of generosity for their fellow men in the pursuit of freedom for all. Patriots are humble in their duty to fight for universal liberty.

Nationalists sacrifice out of self-indulgence in their quest for greatness. The belief in their culture’s superiority supplants all other principles. The only people allowed to be free are those who think, act and vote like they do.

Patriots declare themselves free from chains of oppression; nationalists declare their chains to be a badge of honor while seeking to put them on others and kill them if they resist.

Simply loving one's country, and respect the military and the flag do not make one a patriot. It's what you do to show that respect and love that make the difference.

Now-a-days patriotic stands for killing and the Religious Rights agenda.
I am not for killing and I am not a Religious Right freak.

I can love my Country to be a peaceful country not a war mongering country,.

I love my country, I completely support the military. However, each person is given the duty to think for himself & form his own conclusions even if those conclusions run opposite of the governmental (or my, or your) position. That free thinker is the truest patriot.

I do. What I hate are paranoid morons who hang labels on others simply for having different beliefs.

You obviously don't understand what patriotism is. How long was your brain on the rinse cycle?
