A branch of my family have been making buggy whips since the 1860's and have thousands in their warehouse, convinced that the horse and buggy will make a comeback. How can I convince them otherwise?

Check for a country that still do have horse and buggy and hey yes the QUAKERS..still use buggy and horses...:)
Otherwise, let them dream, and good thing too..why whip a horse..? That must hurt bad..unless they just crack it over the horse's head without touching him to make him move faster.

I hope there right, I would like to see it happen in my life time, i've never known a world without the automobile and would really like to take a horse to work in the morning..

dont condem them I know you are fed up with their whip craze but join in at a different level. organise a sale of the buggy whips on ebay or research online to find a market for them.there are plenty of people who keep horse`s wjo cant find decent buggy whips

Hm... that's a tough one. You may want to tell them about all the amazing things in cars and how they are just getting better and better... if they still won't budge try selling them on ebay or maybe even antique shops or markets. There has to be some people out there who think the same thing! best of wishes!

lol...its possible that they may come back some day soon, not because of style, but lack of gas and oil resources..but thats why they are making hybrid cars now :P tell them that thre has been much better replacements made for horse and buggy

You don't. You take over their advertising and selling branch, and you market their whips within the BDSM community. I bet people would pay good money for nice whips to use on each other. :)

Tell them you found a market for them in a developing country, and then go peddle them as adult sex toys. Then get them to make a line of very small ones in brightly dyed colors--tell them they are for kids' ponies. Sell them to the same outlet.

put them on e bay and see what sort of response you get, or advertise them to a local S&M group... maybe you could diversify and produce barbed wire whips, for the serious S to play with the M's...
