I'm getting married and looking making a video of photos of my fiance and I as we were growing up. I've got a song for myself, but I'm looking for a song to play while the portion of the video about him is playing.

Tim McGraw Dont take the girl
Johnny's daddy was taking him fishing
When he was eight years old.
A little girl came through the front gate
Holding a fishing pole
His dad looked down and smiled
Said we can't leave her behind
Son I know you don't want her to go
But someday you'll change your mind
And Johnny said
Take Jimmy Johnson
Take Tommy Thompson
Take my best friend Bo-
Take anybody that you want as
Long as she don't go
Take any boy in the world
Daddy please- don't take the girl
Same old boy
Same sweet girl
Ten years down the road
He held her tight and kissed her lips
In front of the picture show
Stranger came and pulled a gun
Grabbed her by the arm
Said if you do what I tell you to do
There won't be any harm
And Johnny said
Take my money
Take my wallet
Take my credit cards
Here's the watch that my grandpa gave me
Here's the keys to my car
Mister give it a whirl
But please-don't take the girl
Same old boy
Same sweet girl
Five years down the road
There's gonna be a little one
And she says it's time to go
Docter says the baby's fine
But you'll have to leave
Cause his momma's fading fast
And Johnny hit his knees
And there he prayed
Take the very breath you gave me
Take the heart from my chest
I'll gladly take her place
If you'll let me
Make this my last request
Take me out of this world
God please-don't take the girl
Johnny's daddy was taking him fishing
When he was eight years old...

If he was born in a small town...Small Town by John Mellencamp. I was born in a small town and I've seen that one in lots of slideshows and I liked it.

The Tension and the Terror by Straylight Run is a great song about young love and growing up. Here's the lyrics:

Also I think that Stand By Me (Ben King) has lots of "coming of age" overtones in it because of the movie of the same name(if you've seen it). And Hootie and the Blowfish "Hold My Hand" is a good song but not strictly about growing up.

Congratulations on your future marriage. I wish you well!

Growin' Up by Bruce Springsteen

I stood stone-like at midnight
suspended in my masquerade
I combed my hair till it was just
right and commanded the
night brigade
I was open to pain and crossed
by the rain and i walked on a
crooked crutch
I strolled all alone through a
fallout zone and came out with
my soul untouched
I hid in the clouded wrath of
the crowd but when they
said "Sit down," I stood up.
Ooh...growin' up

The flag of piracy flew from
my mast, my sails were set
wing to wing
I had a jukebox graduate for
first mate, she couldn't sail
but she sure could sing,
I pushed B-52 and bombed em'
with the blues with my gear
set stubborn on standing
I broke all the rules, strafed
my old high school, never once
gave thought to landing,
I hid in the clouded warmth of
the crowd but when they said,
"Come down," I threw up,
Ooh...growin up.

I took long month vacations in
the stratosphere and you know
it's really hard to hold your
breath,
I swear I lost everything I
ever loved or feared, I was the
comic kid in full costume dress,
Well, my feet they finally took
root in the earth but i got me
a nice little place in the stars
And I swear I found the key to
the universe in the engine of
an old parked car
I hid in the mother breast of
the crowd but when they said,
"Pull up," i pulled up
Ooh...growin' up. Ooh...
growin' up

It kinda relies upon how old you're, and in case you could sing some thing from the coach. in case your in middle college and may sing some thing from the coach sing possibly or day after today from Annie. in case your in severe-college and may sing some thing from the coach sing trouble-free street. in case you won't be able to sing some thing from the coach, and your a mezzo (like me) sing part of your international. some people say its over done, notwithstanding it has landed me some good roles when I sing it. nicely in any case desire this helped and good success. :)
