OMG, what did you hit?
How fast were you going?
Did you try to swerve out of the way?

As far as I can remember anyway, here's the list:

3 dogs
4 cats
dozens of rabbits
close to 50 or so squirrels
3 bats
1 wild turkey
around a dozen skunks
9 deer
dozens of birds
1 black bear

All of them I hit while driving my truck (I drive around 100,000 miles per year for a living), except I hit the black bear while driving my Camaro. It wasn't pretty, and yes, the bear (like my car) died.

Unfortunately, yes... first time.. was a skunk... not a thing I could do... cracked him in the head with my oil pan doing 50mph+. That was about 14 years ago.
Nothing after that until mid June this year.. I squashed a chipmunk... tried to swirve but there was a car coming the other way... nuttin' I could do. A week later, a bird flew into the car... I didn't see him land so he may have survived.
Then, last week, this really cute little black bird with a bright orange stripe on either side of his 'cheeks' hit the car at the top left of the windshield where the glass meets the body frame. Not time to swirve... but I saw him come down so I turned around. He was dead so I picked him up and layed him down along the tree-line. Felt terrible.

I ran over a possum or raccoon or something once. It was at night and neither of us stood a chance of avoiding it.

On a side note:

One time, while on the freeway, a buddy of mine was driving us downtown Detroit. The car in front of us had a child in the back seat, and he was waving his stuffed teddy bear out the window. Well, inevitably, the kid drops it and it goes flailing towards the ground. Without a moment of hesitation my friend swerved to make sure he goes right over it and crushes the poor thing! The kid was watching it the whole time and I'm sure he was emotionally scarred for life from the whole ordeal. Sadistic, man...

Oh guy I changed into hoping it is going to under no circumstances ensue to boot. i'm so sorry about it. I continuously get yelled at when I step on the brakes even as there's a small animal in the front of me. Now if I did hit a small animal, i'd only experience terrible. i do not even comprehend to coach it in or no longer, because it appears like against the law. Now hitting some thing even as force? i assume it is tapping yet another automobile. i'd attempt to force away once plausible. i'm only being honest the following. i do not opt to manage paper artwork and insurance.

Yes! I ran over a squirrel that darted out in front of me and I burst into tears. My boyfriend looked at me like I had lost my mind, but I really was sad it happened. I wasn't going that fast either, just going down a side road.

I've hit a lot of things, coons, squirrels, rabbits, deer, birds and others. Never tried to swerve, if they can't get out of my way, oh well. after you drive for a while you are bound to hit something, don't sweat it.

Hit a cat. Either the cat or my mom's cake in the back seat. I figure saving the cake was the correct action.
