I do my makeup about three different ways:
natural: covergirl's oil control clean makeup {liquid} with covergirl's bronze babe shadow on my eyes and cheeks, any old gloss lying around, and about two coats of mascara
sad days: black eyeliner on top and bottom, with little points on the INSIDE corner of my eyes, {sort of a reverse cat eye look,} with red eyeliner on my inner rims, painful, but gives me this silent film heroine look. then mascara and cherry red {not shiny or glossy at all} lipstick or chapstick. {the trick is to focus on one feature; eyes or lips}
happy days: thin black eyeliner, again with reverse cat eye then white eye liner over black on top lid, and on bottom i choose another color of eyeliner that is really bright, some of my favorites are turquoise, lime green, lavender, pink, and orange.
my tips:
use a light pressed powder for touch ups on foundation through out the day
sephora is a great place to buy nice makup, but if it's too expensive, your average drug store should have a cosmetics section.
i find that cover girl's line of cosmetics are my favorite
make sure to pick out the right foundation for your skin, if you have oily skin, get an oil free, shine control foundation, if you have combination skin, get one specialy made for it. for dry skin, get anit-aging or anti- wrinkle foundation specialy made for that kind of stuff.
wash off ALL of your makeup every night to prevent breakouts and to keep hapy, healthy skin. {a little mascara is fine though}
customize your makeup. mix and match colors that you've never thought about before, and make sure to keep your own style!!

•Alway remember this or ur make-up will grow worms
Mascara: Mascara lasts 3-6 months and is the most prone of all makeup to harbor bacteria because the wand is constantly being dipped. A general rule is anything that is a liquid has a shorter life.
•Concealer: Has a life of about 18 months due to emulsion (the ingredients will begin to separate). Also, remember you’re generally using concealer to cover blemishes, which can be more sensitive and prone to infection than other parts of your face.
•Liquid Foundation: You should never use liquid foundation after more than one year. Always use a sponge, and not your germ-laden fingers! If the foundation separates or smells bad, throw it out.
•Loose Powder: This item can last for years.
•Eye Shadow: Lasts 12-18 months if it is a cream, 2 years if it’s a powder.
•Lip Pencil: Can last 3 years due to the wood and wax. Remember to sharpen and cover between uses.
•Lipstick: Can hold up for 2-3 years, but if there is a color change or rancid smell, throw it out.
•Lip gloss: Don’t keep more than 18 months due to a different formulation chemical composition and the same dipping problem as mascara.

Let's put it this way...I'm over 40 and I still do my make up on my eyes the same as if I were 19...Most of the time I wear liquid eyeliner on the top lid and a very thin line on the lower lid...either black of brown...I have Hazel eyes(green/brown)...I always wear mascara (Black)..I do have long lashes and my favorite mascara's are: Illegal lenghts by MAYBELLINE and the other is: Voluminous by LOREAL...I do line the lower lid with a black or dark blue pencil. I don't wear eyeshadow very often...I think the smokey eye should be worn at night time, but that's just my opinion.

Well for you i'd suggest normal foundation and powder, AKA in your skin color then a light liner on top only close to the lash 1/2 coats mascara top only {both in black} then a pink shimmer eyeshadow and a sheer lip gloss
mine is:
Shine free powder
liquid liner top and bottom
mascara top and bottom
pink gloss
but im more punky so thats why its more intense

Do experiment with different colors
Do go with more neutral shades for the summer the "nude" look is in
Do try a bronzer
Do try wearing mascara with no eyeliner for a more natural look
Dont try to accentuate ALL of your features
Dont overload your lashes with mascara
I normally use foundation,bronzer,a neutral blush, and a mauve or light brown eyeshadow color with a light lip gloss and a few brushes of mascara
it sounds to me like you have a pretty good handle on your makeup. try www.beautyriot.com for more tips

I usually wear a little black eyeliner...most of the times I just stay away from mascara because mine really sucks and doesn't make a difference for my eyelashes. I also like my lips natural...with a little shiny gloss (maybe a bit sheer or slightly metallic)...on occasion I wear eyeshadow.

I usually don't wear make-up, only on special occasions. I think thats why I look younger than my age.
