Technically NO... not by STATE law, but your local community or home-owners-association may have differing rules. California Penal Code, Section 314: Every person who willfully and lewdly, either: 1. Exposes his person, or the private parts thereof, in any public place, or in any place where there are present other persons to be offended or annoyed thereby ... is guilty of a misdemeanor. I figure if they can't see in, and their aren't windows over-looking your backyard a little TANNING is kosher... just don't get "lewd". Ahhhhh I remember my teen years and Mrs Silverman !!

I worked in Windsor the last 11 months and my employees told me that it is legal for both men and women to be topless in public. However, is your backyard private or is it public? Guess it does not matter because in private you can be completely barefoot all over. 'eh?

I think you are allowed to be topless but, nude? I think that someone will call the cops if they see you especially if you can be seen by a child in the area. Watch out.

Everything is illegal in Canada. It's illegal for a church to build on it's own property so why should it be legal to sunbath nude?
Oh, wait! It's illegal to build a church which means it will probably be quite alright to sunbath nude. It'd probably be alright to sunbath in your FRONT yard in Canada. Go for it!!!

Unfortunately, it is illegal to tan nude in your own back yard. However, women can tan topless.

I don't know.
But I do know this:
1. It is illegal in the state of Alabama to wear a fake mustache that makes people laugh at church on a sunday night.
2. It is illegal in California to dust your television with your dirty underwear. (don't ask me why, ask Arnold)

You gotta watch out. This old lady called the police about an exhibitionist that bothered her, and when they showed up and asked where he was, she said, "Get up on this step-stool and take these binoculars..."
