If he is refusing all types of formula, it is likely to be an allergy. Some babies know that something isn't good for them and just won't take it. If this is the case, it is *not* a good idea to force the issue; you risks seriously harming him, and the damage can be permanent.

My youngest girl did not like bottles either, but she didn't like the formula, the nipple, nothing about it. I pumped milk for her so on the rare occasions I was gone and she was hungry I could know that she was at least getting something. If she was eating from a bottle when I came into the house, she would scream until I took her from my husband. If he doesn't like the formula give him expressed breast milk instead.

I babysat for a lady who had a 4 month old who had nothing but the breast. Let me tell you, the first couple of nights were awful!! He screamed and screamed!!! I tried all types of bottles and ended up going back to the store and buying a different type of nipple. That did the trick. I bought the Playtex drop in system and used the Natura Latch nipples. He took to the bottle immediately and would drink his formula right down!!! I sure was glad! You should try some of these nipples for him. Good luck!!!

Both of my girls wouldn't take a bottle. They only liked mom. My oldest one would go 8 hours without anything rather than drink formula or reheated breast milk. When she gave in out of desperation she would down it in less than 5 minutes. I tried every type of bottle, nipple. They both just hated the bottle.
I can't give you any helpful advice other than on your next one introduce the bottle very early with breast milk and hope a lot.

Are you still producing milk? If so, pump it and gradually wean your son off of it. (i.e. put 4 ounces of breast milk in a bottle and add 2 ounces of formula for a few days. A few days later, use 3 ounces of breast milk and 3 ounces formula. Eventually, get down to 2 ounces breast milk and 4 ounces formula.)

Take-n-Toss sippy cups. They are awsome. My last two started with a sippy cup by 4months using the take-n-toss cups. You can get them anywhere for cheap- Walmart, etc. They are only a couple of dollars for 4 of them. Even spillproof and dishwasher safe! The only downfall - once they learn how to pop off the lids. Then, it is time to move on.

Can you express your milk and put it in the bottle?
You could also try using a sippy cup instead of a bottle at this age.

Sounds like you have a VERY smart baby! He knows where the good stuff is and is holding out fot the best!
Just for fun, try tasting the formula yourself.

Use a breast pump & place the milk in the bottle for those times when you cannot nurse him.
