A band promoter is nothing more than a PR person or advertiser. Their job is to make the band more noticeable and land gigs.

How do they do this? In a variety of ways like:

1) Distribution of new music CDs,
2) Flyers and website updates,
3) News articles, press releases, and interviews, and
4) Playing at community events.

The KEY is to get the band's name out there so more people know about them and want to listen. The more we see and hear them, the better known they'll become.
