The thing about LSD is that it is fabricated and varies in "quality".
More and more the research is coming back that the medicinal benefits are tremendous. But like with all medicines, it can be a poison if used incorrectly.
In original cultures the use of psychodelics were a part of religious practice. A chance to become closer to our spirit self.
Fasting, prayer, focused preparation all went into the whole experience.
To imagine eating it and "tripping" with a body full of junk food, and a mind full of junk thoughts.... who could be surprised at the manifestations.
I've eaten LSD and it concerns me that folks would be doing so without securing a safe and supportive environment. "It's more high than you need to be"....indeed a terrible state when a person is not prepared and is not clear about what resides in the recesses of their subconscious.

Yes. In fact, I am tingling remembering the last time I'd dropped acid, which has been more than 7 years ago. An LSD high can be quite the conscience experience if you're prepared to seek what your mind normally hides from you. The downside is, as some have said in other answers, when the 'trip' gets away from you, you have no control to regain your mind until it's over.

Nope.

It would be cool to listen to The Piper at the Gates of Dawn on acid....

But I wouldn't. I made a pact never to do any sort of drug for non-medicinal purposes, so I never will.

I agree with other people tho...
It's the least harmful drug, but it still does harm you. You get flashbacks, you could get mental illnesses (schizophrenia, etc.) and bad trips are BAAAAD... Chris Squier, the bassist for Yes, had a bad trip, so he locked himself in his girlfriend's apartment for months and never used acid again. That's where he learned to play bass! And became the best bassist of all time. Yay. The end.

I have, I did it way too often in high school and college. But I'll tell you one thing, if you have a really bad trip, you'll probably never want to go there again! Yes, I agree, it's waaaay more high than I ever need to be!
