Is he too young and not ready for what i want??

Question

I have been with my Bf for 5years, we have our ups and downs and been through it all like any other couple. Im 26 and hes a year younger. He never really seriouly talks bout us getting engaged or buying a house together. I have asked him to open a savings account for the both of us for a house or holiday or anything.... but he dosent seem to do so.
I have questioned him and told him if he dosent want to settle down ever we must break up as i cant push him into taking our relationship to the next level. He dosent beleive in breaking up and wont let me go no matter how much i try because we do love eachother.
Is he scared of commitment? I dont want to be pushy but im getting frustrated and bored going on like this for 5years, plus i have finished my education and have a well established career and want to start a family by 30 atleast.

Any comments on the situation im in or should i just wait and be patient????

It does seem like he might be afraid of a commitment. Try talking to him about it. Maybe there was someone in his past that messed him up. But yet men do progress slower then woman but is he immature or is it that he just doesn't want a commitment. 5 years is a long time for someone to still be patient and wait.
Have you tried talking to him? If so give him an ultimatum and let him know that by the end of the year either you have a ring or your finger or your gone. I left my ex of 4 1/2 years to be with someone else and he regrets till this day that he regrets every minute. He is still trying to prove himself to me. We had a child on the way and he got scared and i lost the child through it all. My advice is to talk to him and if not give him that date! But you need to have the "balls" to get up and leave him be for a while. Let him realize that he's losing the best thing he ever had!
