Of the drivers listed previously, only Robby Gordon is an actual owner/driver. Waltrip will be next year, but this year he owns "an interest". Kyle Petty technically drives for Petty Enterprises, owned by his father. Ken Schrader drives for the Wood Brothers.

There are some out there, but they aren't very competitive. The time constraints of owning a team while driving are just too much for an owner/driver. The most successful right now is probably Robby Gordon. No, he isn't winning races and contending for the Championship, but he is making the race and running decent on occasion. I think the days of the owner/driver are numbered.

Kyle Petty is an owner/driver. I know that their are others. Some of them may own a team but drive for someone else.

They do. Kevin and Delana Harvick are an example, they own Tony Stewarts Busch car. Tony also owns many sprint cars, late models etc.
Dale Jr also owns several cars.

They still do! Robby Gordon owns his own car, and races it.
