ONLY if you have actually seen him on webcam...its the only foolproof way of knowing who youre going to meet. Id talk to him on the phone too if you havent already, think about it, if he doesnt mind you calling then you have no worries (usually) about any nasty surprises ie. girlfriend or even wife.
I would also make sure you met him in a public place for the first visit and always let someone know where youre going and let him know that youve let someone know.
These measures might seem a bit drastic since youve been chatting to him for a while.Ive met people before and its just plain fact that nobody is exactly the same as they appear online. Its just common sense really.

I met someone thru the internet and we arranged to meet but in a public place and we both bought a friend with us and had a lovely meal together.. no romance there but have made a good friend :-) in fact i have met quite a few people from the internet male and female and never had a bad experience - in fact they are still good friends of mine! i always pride myself on being safety conscious and have always taken a friend with me on the first meeting when its a man - no offence guys but there are weirdos out there.. so yes certainly go but not alone .. good luck and i hope you have a nice time :-)

I think you should meet him. But you said you and him have this friendship for 2 years? I think since you gained his trust that YOU SHOULD DECIDE WHERE TO GO. Like a public place, there you should go with a friend or two earlier and when he arrives you should act like you meet them by chance there. If he really if the nice guy you think then he'll be there.

Why don't he come to you if he's not a "scary perv pretending to be a younger guy". think smart and be safe. you do now more people come running when you scream fire than if you scream rape

If you trust him go ahead and go, I'd have a good friend give me a call about 20-30 minutes into the 'date' just make sure everything is going ok! Good luck! :)

Of course, you'll just regret it if you don't, but take a friend with you,or take a big dog for a walk if you can get one. Or if you have a friend who is a big dog even better.
