I love wearing white but I cannot wear my shirts too long before they develop a yellow color right at the armpits. Some people say it's because of sweat and others because of the type of deodorant used. so is there anyway to prevent this or to get rid of the stains?

To get rid of those yellow stains apply ammonia to fresh stains, vinegar to old stains. Soak, and rinse. Launder in hottest water safe for fabric and color.

It's because of sweat. Make a paste out of Oxyclean and water, and put it on the stain. Leave it there for a few minutes, then wash as normal. It should help. There's really no way to prevent it, that I know of, anyways.

put an unscented (you are going to think I'm crazy) dryer sheet (told you so) between your armpit and the shirt... use Dove Ultimate Clear deodorant/antiperspirant.... regular deodorant stops the smell, but not the sweat. Antiperspirant actually stops sweat in that area, and it stops smell, as well. Hope this helps!

If they're white, doesn't bleach get it out?

I don't think deodorant by itself causes any discoloration.

Maybe you should try a type of anti-perspirant, not deodorant, there IS a difference.

Deodorant keeps you smelling good, but not neccessarily always dry, while anti-perspirant keeps you dry, and the side effect of being drier keeps you from smelling bad.

Chlorox bleach does the trick at preventing it...getting them out. Lemon juice and sunshine is the best bleach I know of. However this poses a problem when your white shirts have colors on them. *shrug*

ewww! I can honestly say that I've NEVER gotten yellow stains in my armpits. It's probably from sweating. Try Shout or Spray N Wash

It's called Iron Out and you can buy it most anywhere. Wal-Marts to grocery stores. Good luck!
