Because there are a lot of people out there that have nothing better to do than peer into someone else's life - even if that life isn't quite reality.

It's just about like the phenomenon of people reading tabloids. Ever wonder why those magazines aren't out of business yet?

Cause seeing all their problems and how messed up other people are make us feel better and we can relate to them easier.

it's a relief to see someone going through worse or doing something so ridiculous that it makes our lives not so bad.
