KISS Dynasty was the first disco/glam album they produced due to the disco craze. Then anything after that was worse. When they finally took off their make-up , they lost the USA and could only play in Europe. They had some pretty good tunes but nobody cared. After they put the make-up back on, they reclaimed America for a short time but their popularity was short-lived and now they are seen as shells of their former selves and even downright jokes.

"Love Gun" was KISS first try at pop mainstream disco-esque rock, which went over surprisingly well.

But it was after 1983's "Creatures of the Night" ( the band's last album featuring makeup--and second most favorite album) they came out of their metal "Destroyer (my all time favorite)" era shell and went further into big hair 80's metal with Lick it Up and several subsequent others during that decade.

One thing that stands KISS out was the band was never afraid to expermint with their sound. "Destroyer", with all it's dark metal sound, carried a tender soft love ballad called "Beth". With the exception of Country, (now THAT would be interesting), KISS pretty much has covered several music genres during their long career.

Yes, Gene did a "rap" album.....and the sample I heard (10 seconds of it) totally sucked. But Gene keeps the wheels of ideas going; you never know what's next.

Pop - Dynasty, Unmasked, The Elder (kinda because of "I" and "A World Without Heros")
Hair - Lick it up, Animalize, Crazy Nights, and Hot in the Shade.

I suppose if I had to name one it would be Destroyer only for the reason that is the album which produced their best selling ballad 'Beth'.
