Since it's a new industry performance is still the #1 attribute. If you can show a prospective employer that you can do what they want now, you're in good shape. You'd better have a great web page to show off!

I know some high school students who have yet to graduate that are quite proficient at web design. They have learned by trial and error. I would still recommend the Bachelor's degree though because a college degree simply opens more doors to you that otherwise would be forever closed.
