I was in my share of accidents at a young age, most not all caused by me or others being drunk! I walked, or limped, away from them all! I had friends not so lucky! And of course I didn't think it would happen to 'Me!' And neither does any youngster out there!

i'm particularly a lot detached on the completed issue. i imagine an 18 365 days previous ingesting age ought to artwork with some regulation variations. there is no longer some thing magical about the age of 18 clone of there is no longer some thing magical about the age 21. once you attain both age, it truly is compared to there is a few divine intervention that delivers large information and adulthood. there is no epiphany once you attain those a lengthy time period. you should look on the inhabitants as an entire and ascertain no matter if it truly is secure for society to allow 18 365 days olds to drink. I actual have met 18 365 days olds that were extremely mature and that i imagine ought to take care of a decrease ingesting age. I actual have met 21 365 days olds that i doesn't believe with a rubber pencil a lot less a case of beer and a motorized vehicle. If the guidelines were to stay an similar, i imagine exceptions should be made so as that protection rigidity contributors lower than 21 ought to drink. If the regulation were decreased to 18 years previous, i imagine there should be absolute sobriety guidelines (0.0 BAC) even as utilising a motor vehicle till you're 25 years previous. I also imagine that if someone between 18 and 21 were serious some crime that in touch alcohol (inebriated utilising, bar fights, kin violence) that the court ought to mandate that the fellow ought to abstain from ingesting till they turn 21. purely my 2 cents. i guess that it may well be ok for an 18 365 days previous to kick decrease back with a drink.

The sad truth is that drinking and driving gives you quite a thrill, and when you're drunk, you do what you enjoy most, be it chess, driving, promiscuous sex, or just walking around an enjoying the sights.

Young people are less experienced with both alcohol, and cars, so those of them that like the thrill of having the wind in their hair, the radio on, and an open bottle in their lap tend to die from it.

I didn't start drinking until I was 21 (legal age and now I'm 47 ...... still alive... still drinking.... still driving..... just not at the same time

I also have a 24 yo and a 21 yo and they were taught to be responsible drivers and then drinkers. They were allowed to drink wine at dinner and cocktails at parties in our home at 18 but were never allowed to drive afterward. occasionally a friend was allowed to have wine with us at dinner as well. They have learned to choose mature friends who knew the rules. My daughter called me one time to come and get her and a friend because she had a couple drinks at a party and knew she was in no shape to drive. She knew she could because she knew it was the right thing to do and that we wouldn't get pissed. my son's friend rotate designated drivers when they go out so that someone is sure to be sober. Each person puts $10 into the kitty for the DD so that person makes gas money and a little extra. (sometimes people volunteer!!)

I understand why kids do it..... because their parents don't teach them to be responsible..... they just yell and threaten them.

When we are young and not as experienced in life a lot of people have the "it won't/can't happen to me" mentality. I learned early on. In the 7th grade a friend (same age) died of a brain aneurysm. In the 8th grade another friend (only in the 6th grade) died from huffing butane. Sophomore year of high school...bad wreck (racing no drinking involved). The guy I was riding with was in a coma for 2 weeks and had to learn to walk, talk, feed himself again. It does happen to people. Unfortunately, in our ignorance (not meant in a demeaning way), inexperienced, fearless way of thinking we make bad decisions. I hope you are a young person yourself ....that means you have realized that life is not a guarantee early.

You know its true .. . My friend just bought a 16,000 jeep liberty, got drunk, totalled it, and was about 2 feet away from falling into a lake. I think you can drink all you want, but just don't get into a car afterwards.

XXXXXXXXXXX Believe you me, they all have heard about drinking and driving but they do it because they think "It'll never happen to them". Or they've done it alot of times and nothing happened. Little do they realize, it only takes one time. Be it the first time they drive drunk or the hundred and fifty first time. Eventually **** happens. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

because people cannot think or focus on alcohol, especially if they r immature, it will be that much worse, i honestly beleive that legalizing marijuana would save many lives, 4 if those people were high instead of drunk, there would be no accidents or deaths like that, period, hell if n e thing should be illegal itz those damn cigarettes filled with stuff from chemicals u use to clean your toilet, to the stuff u put in your toilet, ewww (-_-(-_-)-_-)
