Well I live in Tampa Fl. I got arrested and here they don't give community hours for misdemeanor probation but roadside, meaning they drop you off like on the interstate and you pick up trash for 8 hours, they check to make sure your bags are full, but my idea to keep it cleaner is to get all those healthy women and men in homeless shelters to pick up garbage even if it is only 2 hours a day,to pay for their room and food.

How about more trash cans in public places that are regularly emptied and automatic, immediately payable fines for those caught littering by police? Educational campaigns to show the negative effects of littering on a person's daily environment could help, but you have to hit a person's pocket book before you will get a good response.

I think that people just need to throw it in the proper container. I live in MPLS and i heard that they are going to start reinforcing litter laws so if people litter (including cig. butts) they could get fined. I think that ppl who smoke also have another bad habit~ littering~ and they dont even consider it littering.

Dont through our trash out the window keep with us intell we could through it away
If where on the street and can pick it up by all means pick up
On the free way try to get a group to gether and talk to the city to clean it up
If every one dose there part maybe our citys would be cleaner
every one should care about our world

If every person picked up two peices of litter per day there would be no litter left, so instead of talking about penalties or incentive schemes get out there and pick it up.

First off don't litter yourself and bring your children up in the same fashion..to respect our earth..mother nature ..but also
look for church groups and other youth and non profit groups like even the girl and boy scouts whom are interested in the beautification and the respect of their surroundings.. They are always looking to help. And in my town we have a town beautification committee ..or even the recreation and parks committees that could give you ideas on how to launch your own volunteer effort that you coordinate.
good luck and god bless your efforts -even if only to get peoples attention regarding ones responsibilities concerning the welfare of our planet.

Do not contribute to it. Many places let people "adopt" certain stretches of roadway to help keep cleaned up.
