When I answer a question, I prefer to answer it having researched it so I have both knowledge of the topic up for discussion and also so I have an idea of what others think of the topic. I can then formulate opinions as to whether those people are right or wrong and why. I can then proceed to make my own opinion based on both factual knowledge and the information available from other people.
