I've been running for 3 years but some advice is always helpful. Does anyone have any good training tips or suggestions to make me a better runner? Advice on how to get myself to sprint at the end and beginnning of a race but keeping a steady pace throughout? Just some basic tips for a sophmore track and cross country runner?

you have to mix some explosive training in with your distance training to get the turnover. I don't know much about cross country, but for track you want to hit some hill sprints occasionally and jump in some 4s in some allcomers meets. try hitting some hill sprints after your main distance workout once in a while, or even on the track. It will teach your body to run fast while fatigued.

try doing lunges... we have them in volley ball, they make u faster and stronger...

the first lunge is where you get on one knee and hold it away from the ground by like an inch for a few second... then you do one sideways bend the same knee you just bent and stretch the other one out, the third one is diagonal to you and is basically the same thing as the second one... do these ten times... they hurt but they are like magically effective!
