The lifeguards were telling people to leave the water on Tuesday,July 18,2006. I would like to swim but I would like to know the level of pollution.

Water quality is generally pretty good, at least here in West Michigan. I was at Lake Michigan in Holland, Michigan on Saturday and there were no water advisories...lots of people were swimming at the beach and diving off of the pier.

Is Montrose Beach near Chicago?

i would not swim in any public water. i live in Cleve Ohio and all the water everywhere in the world the water is disgusting.this is one place place where death lingers without a name.
