i have been on a diet for a few months now and i have been eating from 200-800 calories a day and since i've been doing that i am always really cold and i looked it up and it said that people with anorexia have that and it said other things that happen to anorexics which is that they grow fine hair on their body to stay warm, and that they prepare and serve food to people without eating it, and that their skin looks like a yellowish color and i have had all those symptoms! And i was completley shocked! And i haven't had my period for two months and what do you think i should do?I don't want to tell anyone so don't say go to the doctor, please.

You NEED to change your habits quickly if that is the case. You also need to change the way you think!

What is the reason you are only eating 200-800 calories a day? Chances are that you think of yourself as 'fat,' but others probably don't think of you that way. Have someone take a picture of you now and cover up the face and look at the pic. Would you think the person in the picture was fat if it wasn't you? If you don't think so, then you're not fat. You need to change your mental picture of what you look like. Also, you need to realize that people should have some padding over their bones, not just be very, very skinny.

The body needs a certain amount of nourishment and if it doesn't get it, it will die. It can only go for so long before it uses up all it's supplies of nourishment. A few months might be how long that is.

Start eating more if you can. If you can't, you really, really need to get medical help. If you don't want to go to a doctor, how about calling a doctor or RN line or something like that where you can remain anonymous? But you must do something soon or you could be jeopardizing your life. If you can't bring yourself to talk to a doc or nurse, talk to your mom or sis or aunt or older lady friend and let her help. Please.

200-800 calories a day is not enough to stay healthy. And people who have anorexia often don't really know they have it until it's got its claws well sunk into them. You not having your period is part of it too: Your body is trying to hold onto the iron that would otherwise be lost with the blood.

Start eating again, Honey. You're missing out on a lot. I know you said don't tell you to go to a doctor, so I won't. But go to someone you trust and get them to help you.

Start with eating soups: Your stomach probably isn't going to be used to solid food. Then add mild fruits and chunkier soups, and more foods as you get used to eating again.

Good luck!

If you have the symptoms of anorexia, you just might be suffering from it---and you acknowledge the symptoms.

Your choices are two-fold:

1) Continue as you are and perhaps permanently damage your heart muscle and damage other organs on your way to death.

2) Get yourself to a doctor. Anorexia is something that requires treatment from health care providers.

That is not enough calories for your body to even function normally. you are slowly starving yourself.
