Was he though? He was a pretty clever guy.
Obviously that doesn't mean he was a good man, but one can't deny he was a pretty smart man.

Because there is a fine line between genius and insanity. His tactics were extremely effective, otherwise how would he be able to carry out those terrible things? For one thing, he made his top generals THINK that his (Hitler's) plans were their own by subly asking generals that he knew shared his mindset about a certain strategy/campaign and what they would do, then told them to do it. People will work harder for something they had a part in rather than taking orders from some nut with power.
One has nothing to do with the other. Just because someone commits atrocities doesn't make them instantly brain-dead. Hitler's attempt at genocide was wrong, his war tactics were brilliant. For all you know, the most reasonable person you know living next door might be a murderer or pedophile or whatever.

Like it or not, you should give the devil his due. Hitler took a horribly impoverished country and made it a world power in a few short years. he raised the hopes and expectations of the German people out of the gutter that the treaty of Versailles put them in. He commissioned the development of what would become the world most successful automobile. as a military strategist he was one of the best albeit his intell was sometimes flawed. he was also an orator of unequaled power and used that skill to rally the populous. his use of propaganda was masterful. so much so that the German civil population willingly gave up their freedoms to him as well as their guns.In conquest he preferred to annex countries rather than conquer them because it added to his military base. Those are some of the reasons why he can be regarded as a genius.
None of the above excuses the crimes he committed against humanity. While he killed many Jews they were not his only targets, many groups were victims of his wrath.
Power is like a drug, it can either change a person or set them free to do the unthinkable.
The patterns of history repeat, be ever watchful.

I was going to make a joke here, but... I'm not. Adolph is an example of what can happen from bad parenting! If you ever looked at his eyes, even as an infant....yes, definitely, "NUTS", comes to mind. He was no genius, of any kind. (But, it is possible that he personally never single handedly killed anyone---*kind of like Charlie Manson, and we all know how sane he is!

I dont think he was nuts . He was using his power in favor of his country and his nation. He was just doing anything to save Germany during the economy crisis and he blamed jews and minorities for it so he could get their wealth and save the country . Exact same thing is happening right now , Hezbolah is not fighting and killing because of their belifs , they just want all the power and money they want and they just need a excuse to start killing to save their own asses .. I dont believe the whole entire Hitler thing started because he just personaly hated jews .. the bad economy in Germany started the war and minorities just got caught in the middle of it .. Look at Hezbolah right now .. they wouldnt kill anyone just if they could have all the oil money .. we all lost families in second world , white , black and what happened wasnt right and what is happening right now is not right but power and money makes u blind

This is the problem, he felt he had a fabulous reason for killing off these people.
Buying into the lie about Jewish people and blaming them for all of Germany's ills, he diverted attention from the real power grab.
