I have a webcam made by View Quest Technologies Model No. M-318B supplied by Time computers that came with my Time PC. I had Windows '98 installed at the time but since then I have installed Windows XP Pro. In the past, I have been able to install my webcam even though a dialogue box pops up saying "System Error". but having to re-format my PC, thanks to downloading Service Pack 2, I can't get it to work with the same dialogue box appearrig when I try to install. Any ideas about how I can get round this problem, or can I get later drivers for this cam?

I think your web cam is older than xp.It might not be compatable with xp. Otherwise go to the manufacters web site and look for a faq. They might have a answer for you.

See if the manufacturer has updated drivers.
If not, yuo may have to remove SP2.
Service Pack 2 creates almost as many problems as it solves unless you install it at the time you install the OS itself.
