There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with being a virgin (at 18 or any other age, for that matter)! And it doesn't matter if you're a guy or a gal. I was 24 years old before I gave it up...and that was on my wedding night. My husband was also a virgin. 16 years later, we're still quite happy. : )

When someone teases you about being a virgin, tell them that
1) it's your choice and they should respect it...so make like a breach baby and butt out, 2) you don't have to spend your life worrying about HIV or STDs, and 3) you'll never have to forgo education to raise a child conceived prematurely, 4) nor will you have to make the most difficult of choices because of the same (or stand by a girlfriend going through it).

I'd say there's plenty of positive reasons to remain a virgin until you are ready and willing to take the next step. Don't be pressured. Wear that V badge proudly, hon! You're healthy and young. You have the rest of your adult life to explore sex. Wait until you KNOW you're ready.

It is purely Peer pressure, try to ignore the teasing because there is nothing bad about being a virgin at your age. Sometimes girls who are not virgins at your age get a not so nice tag from the boys. I think you should feel heaps happier being a virgin rather than being tagged something else, don't you. You will have plenty of time ahead to appreciate a favourable sex life.

I was a virgin until I got married, by choice, I got married when I was 20. I admire you in today's culture, it seems like there is a lot of pressure on TV, magazines, etc to go out and do it. If you don't have sex, you can't get pregnant/get someone pregnant, and you can't get an STD. GOOD FOR YOU!!! STAY STRONG!!! There is nothing wrong with being a virgin, and if whoever is teasing you, then they aren't really your friends and they suck. Have a great day!!!!!

There is nothing wrong with being a virgin at 18. Peer pressure these days is cruel. When the right lady friend comes along and it feels right then you will take the plunge and no longer be a virgin. Until then ignore your friends jestering and be yourself. Your lady friends will find that more attractive anyway. (your being yourself)

there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with being a virgin. Look at it this way...you can only be a virgin once...once you lose it, it is gone!!!

The people making fun of you are just jealous because you have something they can never have again. Keep your virginity, treasure it and one day you will make someone very ahppy that your first time was on your wedding night. :)

Hooray for you!! You will be able to enter a meaningful relationship with your whole self and not be weighted down by past sexual relationship's baggage such as: stds, bad attitude because of a horrible relationship, babies, aborted babies, adopted babies and wonder if your future kids will marry their sibling! You will be able to dedicate yourself to your wife and family. I am happy that so many others responded that they are virgins also! Keep up the great decisions and have a great life!

If people ask you if you're a virgin, tell them it's not their business. Many people don't lose their virginity until late teens or early 20s. It's much better to wait.
