Look closely at your Ipod, is there a very small hole somewhere on it? Like paperclip size maybe? I don't have an Ipod, but on my DJ if it locks up, there is a reset button you can push with a paperclip. It resets everything and it starts working again. Good Luck.

The problem with iPods is that their batteries are not replacable so you cannot just take it out and put in a new one like you can with the ZenMicro. That is probably the reason why it won't charge and as far as I know, you have to go to an Apple store and pay for them to give you a new one with a new battery. Sorry. However, you might also be able to send it in online. Just tell them the battery is dead and they will have to replace it. That might also solve the other problem of the folder popping up...

It may just be that the power adapter (charger) is dead.
If you know someone with a similar ipod, try borrowing their power adapter. If it starts charging, let it charge at least an hour, and then see if it powers up.
If this works, order a new power supply.
I suggest you look into the warranty though because one of the people here has suggested that it may be a 2 year, and not a 1 year warranty.
