The people who give rude responses really just want attention...yes, even negative attention. They really aren't worth your time and are probably just truly miserable individuals looking for a way to have some control, and push buttons to release anger and frustration at their situation(s) in life. These people usually don't have the guts to say what's on their minds when a person is standing in front of them, so they use this opportunity to say nasty evil little things so they feel better about themselves... powerful....smart...cunning...whatever. If you click one of these person's profiles, you will generally find that everything they post is rude - it seems to be their mission in life. Anyway, I hope that yahoo will try to do something about the problem, because these people are truly ruining a nice idea. Maybe you'd be better off sending feedback to Yahoo. If enough of us complain, perhaps we can make a difference.

No, I actually disagree. I understand where you're coming from, but two wrongs really don't make a right.
People who write nasty, rude responses to people's questions want to be engaged in a back-and-forth discussion, so I think it's better just to ignore those people and don't give them what it is that they crave the most: attention.

No, when I started on here I answered a couple of people's rude comments by writing rude comments on their posts, but that only leads to them stalking you on every single question and that gets old. Just move on, report them if the comment is too rude or off topic.

What timing. I felt like doing the same thing to someone this morning who gratuitously insulted me for my question. However, the best advice I have for you is to ignore the jerks who are rude. Nothing's going to keep them out of here. That's because anyone can sign up for a Yahoo! e-mail address for free and enter this forum. You don't even have to use your real name. Therefore, plenty of riff-raff find their way in here. Have fun, write your questions, and employ a powerful filter to strain out the idiots.

I think people take things out of context WAY TOO MUCH... what the hell does it matter anyways. If they give a rude answer you can report it. People need to get a life. When someone starts harrassing me I report them and I include what they say. People start crap over the stupidest stuff. One person was *****ng with me because they didn't like that my least favorite color was orange... I mean, c'mon.

Sometimes people like Rogue Philosopher ask really stupid rude and sexist questions to the point where I'm sure it upsets other women epsecially and some things need to be said back. But sometimes when it comes to pointless things I just don't say anything.

some questions are really mean, digusting, and/or rude, so our responses would depend on the situation
