But, it does not inform me 'how long after I take the drug that I can safely have milk.' Also, does 'no milk' mean I have to have only 'black tea,' prior to or right after I take the drug..?

Can anyone help me here?

milk can make the drug less effective as it decreases the absorption. You would be safe to have milk up to two hours before or two hours after your medication. Also, make sure to finish your course of antibiotics even if you start to feel better.

Some antibiotics' absorption rate is slowed down by milk but 'no milk' does not mean you shouldnt have milk at all. The content of your stomach would have digested in four hrs so if you are having milk make sure that an hour before and after your medication you dont take milk. Thus the drug would have been able to be absorbed without any hinderance.

Probably for the duration of the course avoid milk an hour either side of the pills as it may interfere with the uptake of the drug to your system. Milk in tea should be okay as it's dilute. I work in A+E

no milk one hr. before you take the medicine and one hr. after you take the medicine. this is because the milk would make the antibiotic less effective
