I would want the baby to live. Cause the baby can hold what the future brings. I or the mother wouldn't be able to do much..So that baby is the key...I love babys...and I would want my baby to be alive more than me..

That is such a hard question and I think it would totally depend on the circumstances at the time, the relationship and whether there are any more children in the family.
I suspect that if that happened to us now, my husband would chose me because we already have 2 small children and he couldn't work and look after them as well. Perhaps if it had been his first child, the answer would have been the child. But then, his first child was with someone else who he wasn't getting on that well with at the time... as I said... each situation would be different.

The doctors would save the mother and do their bet for the baby. It is sad but the mother is most important in this situation. The likelyhood of the father being asked to choose is slim.
Howeverf, if the mother is giving birth and asked to choose between baby or the father (hey, you only said choose partner or baby, not mother or baby) I think I'd probably choose the baby. The father is the one who got her pregnant and caused all that pain!

i personally would choose the partner, if you love your partner that is. you could have a child later, but at the end of the day if you lose the child you could still have your partner and another child. plus, your child will need it's mum and youd need the support! i hope you dont actually have to choose, but if you do, all the best to you and good luck...you have my sympathies!

The child. But I would take the advice of the doctors and (if she was able) the mother. I actually know someone this happened to. She chose to die because she refused medication.

your partner, because who could take care of the child like a mother can?

Argh I hope my partner is never faced with that question, but I would think save your partner because you could always have more children...or even adopt. I know some people are going to disagree with this, but thats just my opinion.

my dad had to make this choice. he chose my mum so that my sister and i could happen. would he have been able to cope alone as a single father? would he resent the baby for living when his wife died? a very hard choice. obviously i'm glad he chose my mum and i'm sure it was the right decision xx

Thankfully I don't have to make that choice! I would pick the child. I think most people would pick the child.
